Hull Dryer Questions

How do I know if it will fit my boat?

The Hull Dryer is designed to screw securely into a 6-inch Beckson inspection port. We're actively testing more brands and will continue updating this compatibility chart below.

If you have a different port, send us a quick note or message us on Instagram. We’re prioritizing based on demand.

What are the power requirements?

The Hull Dryer runs on 12VDC and draws up to 1.2 amps at full speed. It comes with a standard wall plug (110VAC to 12VDC), but you can also power it directly using:

This makes it compatible with many battery packs, solar setups, or marine power systems — just ensure the voltage and polarity are correct.

How weather-resistant is it?

The Hull Dryer is built for harsh marine environments. Key protections include:

For best results, avoid leaving it exposed in horizontal setups or fully submerged conditions. It’s weather-resistant, not submersible.

Will it work on boats that are foam-filled?

It depends on whether air can circulate through the space. Boats like the Sunfish have foam blocks but still allow airflow, so they dry effectively. Fully foam-filled hulls with no airflow may not benefit — but other compartments on the boat might.

Can it run horizontally?

Yes, it threads in securely and runs fine. Just note the louvers shed water best when upright, so in horizontal setups, avoid rain exposure.

Does it blow air in or pull it out?

It blows air into the hull. A second outlet port allows air to escape, preventing pressure buildup or vacuum. The fan moves air gently at low static pressure for safe and effective drying.

Can it be used for winterizing or storage?

It’s a great end-of-season tool to remove trapped moisture before long-term storage.
